Dressing professionally can help form a positive impression to people you meet. This holds particular significance during job interviews and interactions with professionals making hiring decisions. The way others initially see you can influence their long-term opinions.

Business Professional

WOMEN

• Choose a black skirt or pant suit in neutral colors.
• Ensure top and bottom match for a cohesive look.
• Skirt suits, with the skirt slightly below the knee.
• Pressed, collared button-down shirts complement the outfit.
• Opt for dress shoes like pumps, flats, or heels.
• Keep makeup minimal and suitable for daytime.
• Pull back long hair for a polished appearance.
• Keep hair and jewelry simple.

MEN

• Full suit with matching jacket and pants with black belt
  
• Pressed, collared shirt with plain (solid, stripe, or simple pattern) tie
  
• Dark leather dress shoes and dark dress socks
  
• The bottom of the tie should just barely cover the entire belt buckle; a tie should never be too long or too short

Business Casual

Business casual is a dress code that's less formal than business wear but still professional. It's not a suit, but not jeans and a t-shirt, either.
